“An Open Day Was Held at the Military Department”
On April 16, 2026, on the eve of the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory, within the framework of the “Tribute to Heroism” campaign and in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day, an Open Day was held at the military department on the fourth day of the field training camp of the college of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University. The event was organized for school and college students of Shymkent as part of career guidance activities.The ceremonial event began with a military formation parade and continued with congratulatory speeches from the department leadership and university representatives. The university’s Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Affairs, Ghani Besbayev, emphasized the educational importance of the event and highlighted the role of the military department in training qualified specialists for the military field. The event continued with a welcoming speech by the head of the military department, Colonel Zhakyp Kenzhebayev. In his speech, he noted the great importance of such meetings in fostering patriotism among young people and gave a detailed overview of the main functions and objectives of the military department. In addition, the leadership of the Shymkent garrison, senior officers, and commanders of military units attended the event and expressed their best wishes to the future defenders of the Motherland. Participants became acquainted with the educational and material base of the military department and received comprehensive information about the operation of military equipment, the organization of the educational process, the specifics of military training, and future opportunities. During the event, students demonstrated hand-to-hand combat techniques, weapon movement skills, and drill training elements at a high level, attracting great interest from the audience. These demonstrations became a vivid example of military discipline, endurance, courage, and responsibility for young people.
