M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University College, Department of Information Technologies

The Department of Information Technologies began its activity in April 2016 with the opening of the college at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University and the admission of the first applicants for the specialties "Information Systems" and "Computer Engineering and Software".

Initially, the department included the "General Education" department, and since 2017, it has been divided into several CMCs (cyclical methodical commissions): "Humanitarian and Economic", "Textile and Design", "Pedagogical Specialties", "Physical Education and Military Training", "Languages", and "IT Specialties". Currently, the department offers training in the specialties:

• 1305000 – "Information Systems",

• 06130100 – Software Engineering,

• 07230100 – Garment Production and Clothing Modeling,

• 04110100 – Accounting and Auditing,

• 01140500 – Physical Education and Sports,

• 01140100 – Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education.

There are currently 923 students studying at the department, and 97 qualified teaching professionals work there.

In practice, graduates of the "Information Technologies" department work in districts of the Turkistan region and in Shymkent city in the fields of information systems and light industry, providing enterprises with automation engineers. In addition, many of the technical programmers and technologists in the banking system, industrial, and IT sectors of Shymkent are graduates of this department. Many students continue their education at M. Auezov SKU and other higher educational institutions. Notable alumni include:

Aidaruly Margulan – graduate of "0103000 – Physical Education and Sports" specialty
Achievements:

• 2019 – 1st place in the Kazakhstan Championship in the 69 kg weight category;

• 2019 – awarded the title "Master of Sports" in boxing in Kazakhstan;

• Since 2010 – won 43 medals in various boxing competitions;

• November 9–18, 2019 – represented Kazakhstan and won a bronze medal at the Asian Youth Boxing Championship in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Tolenbek Nuraiym Shakimergenkyzy – graduate of "1305000 – Information Systems" specialty
Achievements:

• 2012 – Laureate of the South Kazakhstan regional "Master of Words" competition;

• 2013 – Grand Prix winner of the same competition;

• 2013 – Laureate of the "Young Talent" regional competition;

• 2017 – "Youngest Announcer" nomination;

• 2018 – Grand Prix winner of the "Best TV Story" competition;

• 2015–2019 – Host of regional and city government cultural events;

• 2018 – Director-screenwriter of various regional and city events;

• Since 2019 – Deputy of the Shymkent City Youth Parliament.

• 3rd place in sport knife throwing, named World's Best Technical Fighter, Anapa, Russia;

• Two-time champion of the regional Kyokushin Karate competition.

Kemelkhan Qaiyrkhan – 4th-year student, "Information Systems"

• International youth winner in Kazakh Kures;

Achievements:

• Two-time 1st place winners of the 2023 Shymkent city college Spartakiad.

Oshkenova Aymaral Galymzhanqyzy – 1st-year student, "Physical Education and Sports"
Achievements:

• 1st place in international competitions in Baikonur, 2022;

• Multiple 1st places in national competitions held in Almaty, Shymkent, and Astana;

• Black belt holder in Taekwondo, 2022.

Otegen Maksat – student of group DTn-23-2k, "Physical Education and Sports"
Achievements:

• 1st place in the interclub competition of the Kyokushin Karate organization (Shymkent branch), age group 16–17;

• 1st place in the Shymkent city Kyokushin Karate Championship (age 14–15, weight category 55 kg);

• 3rd place in the Semey Mayor’s Open Cup (Kyokushin Karate), age 14–15, weight category 55 kg;

• 3rd place in the Victory Day Open Championship (Kyokushin Karate, Almaty region), age 14–15, weight 60 kg.

Iristaev Qairat – student, "Physical Education and Sports"
Achievements:

• Candidate for Master of Sports in Boxing, recognized by Shymkent Department of Physical Culture and Sports (Order №584, August 9, 2022);

• 1st place in Shymkent interclub boxing tournament (60 kg category);

• Winner of the "Best Boxer" nomination;

• 1st place in the "Tarlan Batyrlary" Open Championship among boys (2008–2012) in Turkistan, dedicated to Kazakhstan’s 30th Independence anniversary;

• 1st place in the Shymkent city boxing championship among boys born in 2008–2009 (60 kg weight category).
