Today, at our university, in honor of the "Year of Skilled Trades" and International Chefs Day, the College of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, in collaboration with the Methodological Center of the Shymkent City Education Department, organized a large-scale festival called “Delicious Fest-2025.”

As part of the festival, an important professional skills competition, “Skilled Chef - 2025,” was held. A total of six teams from educational institutions in our city specializing in “Food Service Organization” participated in the contest.

At the festival’s grand opening, the university’s Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Work, Ghani Besbaev, spoke, emphasizing the importance of skilled trades in society, highlighting the event’s significance for young chefs, and wishing the participants success.

The competition consisted of four stages demanding culinary knowledge and creativity: team introductions, mastery in pastry arts, revival of the Kazakh people’s forgotten national dishes, and the “Delicious Vibe” stage—where participants showcased not only their culinary skills but also their stage presence and creative performances.

The judging panel included head chefs from prominent restaurants, popular food bloggers, and top experts in food engineering. They fairly evaluated the participants’ efforts and provided professional advice to the future chefs.

The following educational institutions were recognized as winners based on the competition results:
The grand prize was awarded to the chefs of the “Food Industry and Service College.”
1st place — College of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University,
2nd place — School-Gymnasium No. 38 named after N. Ondasynov,
3rd place — Specialized Boarding Lyceum No. 1 for Gifted Children.
