Today, preventive work was carried out for the students of the M. Auezov OCU College concerning emergencies — natural or man-made phenomena that pose a threat to human life and health, the environment, and property.
To prevent such situations, it is necessary to:
• Follow safety rules;
• Know the action plan in case of an emergency;
• Memorize emergency phone numbers (101, 102, 103, 112);
• Keep important documents and essential items in an accessible place.
**SEISMIC SAFETY (DURING AN EARTHQUAKE)**
Following safety measures during an earthquake is the main way to protect human life.
**During preparation:**
• Check the strength of the building;
• Prepare a first-aid kit, flashlight, and water supply;
• Discuss the evacuation plan with your family.
**During an earthquake:**
• If you are indoors — take cover under a table or stand near a strong wall;
• Stay away from windows and heavy objects;
• Do not panic and use verified evacuation routes.
**FIRE SAFETY MEASURES**
Fire prevention is the responsibility of every citizen.
• Use electrical appliances properly;
• Do not leave a gas stove unattended;
• Do not give matches or flammable items to children;
• In case of fire, immediately call 101 or 112;
• During evacuation, use a damp cloth to protect your respiratory system.
